    Link & Widgets

    All Articles URL – link to a page that compiles all the text articles created for a specific issue; the page provides article titles and a short preview of the article, with links to full text articles

    Archive Code (Archive Configurator) – space that houses the HTML code for the Archive Page

    Archive Configurator – area that houses various options and selections used to configure and generate an Archive menu; an Archive menu is an interactive feature that showcases the publication’s archives and can be embedded on an external webpage

    Archive Page Preview (Archive Configurator) – section that provides a real-time preview of how the Archive Page will be displayed

    Auto Updating URL – a direct link to the digital edition; this link will always direct to the most recent* issue of a publication (most recent issue is defined as the issue with latest publication date and is activated)

    Auto Updating URL (Clean URL) – a direct link to the digital edition; offered in a clean, reader-friendly format. This link will always direct to the most recent* issue of a publication (most recent issue is defined as the issue with latest publication date and is activated)

    Code Box – space that will house the HTML code for icons when icon options are selected in the Distribution Links section; by default this space is blank

    Custom Link Target – a link to be used when clicking on an icon generated in the Distribution Links section; this link overrides the default link to the digital edition

    Distribution Links – area that houses various options and selections used to configure and generate customized issue icons; additionally houses direct URLs of the digital edition for use in distribution

    Frame Background Color - This option allows you to select a background color for the surrounding frame of the flipping icon.

    Frame Height – enter a number to adjust the height of the flipping icon; custom heights will only affect the frame space around an icon, unless Resizable Icon is being used

    Frame Width – enter a number to adjust the width of the flipping icon; custom heights will not only affect the frame space around an icon, unless Resizable Icon is being used; note widths greater than 300 may cause pixilation on Resizable Icons

    Google Analytics – area that facilitates integration of Google Analytics with the digital edition; requires use of a tracking identifier in the following format: UA-xxxxxx-x

    Google Tag Manager – area that facilitates integration of Google Tag Manager with the digital edition; requires use of a tracking identifier in the following format: GTM-xxxxxx

    Image Dimensions – dropdown menu that allows you to customize the cover dimensions for the Auto Updating Cover Thumbnail; three preset sizes are available: 108 x 135px, 320 x 401px and 960 x 1202px

    Latest Issue of This Publication – HTML code that can be embedded on an external webpage; displays a linked cover image that automatically updates to display and link to the current issue, once activated

    Limit The Numbers of Pages to Display To – specify a limiting number to indicate how many pages a flipping icon will display; please note the number must be even

    Link Opens a New Pop-Up Window – select this option to have the digital edition open in a new browser window whenever the flipping icon is clicked

    Monitor Flipping Icon – an animated preview icon that displays the digital edition being flipped through, in a computer monitor window; the icon is linked to the digital edition (or Custom Link Target) and can be embedded in an external webpage

    Page Curl Icon – an animated icon that displays the issue’s cover with a page curl animation in the bottom right-hand corner; the icon is linked to the digital edition (or Custom Link Target) and can be embedded in an external webpage

    Publication (Latest Issue) Full Article RSS Feed URL – an RSS feed URL that displays full text articles and titles

    Publication (Latest Issue) Partial Article RSS Feed URL – an RSS feed URL that displays partial text articles and titles

    Remove Pop-Up Window’s Toolbars – select this option to remove the browser window’s toolbar from pop-up windows generated by clicking a Flipping Icon

    Resizable Icon – a resizable animated preview icon that displays the digital edition being flipped through; this icon is linked to the digital edition (or Custom Link Target) and can be embedded in an external webpage; note widths greater than 300 may cause pixilation on Resizable Icons

    Rollover Text – enter text to be displayed when hovering over a page curl icon

    Select Curl Icon Code For This Issue – generates HTML code in the Code Box for a flipping icon in the style of the Page Curl Icon; the link and content of the icon is specific to the selected issue

    Select Host – select a host from a list of available options to customize the direct URL links appropriately; hosts that appear here must have already been set up in My Account

    Select Monitor Icon Code For This Issue – generates HTML code in the Code Box for a flipping icon in the style of the Monitor Flipping Icon; the link and content of the icon is specific to the selected issue

    Select Publication Issue – select the desired issue to generate links and icons for

    Select Publication Name – select the desired publication to generate links and icons for. A Publication Issue will first need to be selected before links and icons are generated

    Select Resizable Icon Code For This Issue – generates HTML code in the Code Box for a flipping icon in the style of the Resizable Icon; the link and content of the icon is specific to the selected issue

    Select Standard Icon Code For This Issue – generates HTML code in the Code Box for a flipping icon in the style of the Standard Flipping Icon; the link and content of the icon is specific to the selected issue

    Select Updating Curl Icon Code For Latest Issue - generates HTML code in the Code Box for a flipping icon in the style of the Page Curl Icon; the link and content of the icon automatically updates to the latest issue once the most recent issue is activated

    What Items Are Needed

  • When directed to your custom registration url, the user will be passed with three additional variables:

     

    btx_i - Issue ID
    btx_pub_id - Publisher ID
    btx_m - Publication ID

    Your url should have two fields for login, one for login name and another for password. This form should submit to the desired domain + "/publication/logincheck.php" (e.g., http://www.mydigitalpublication.com/publication/logincheck.php). The fields should be named reader_login for the entered login, reader_password for the entered password, pub_id for the Publisher ID, and either "i" for the Issue ID (if a specific issue ID is requested) or "l" set to 1 and "m" set to the desired Publication ID (if the latest issue of a publication is desired).
